The Snider Prize is an annual purchase award offered by the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago. It was established by Lawrence K. and Maxine Snider to support emerging photographers completing their graduate studies. The award reflects the MoCP’s mission to collect and support contemporary photography by acquiring exceptional work from up-and-coming artists. The selected work becomes part of the museum’s permanent collection, providing both recognition and long-term visibility.
The winner receives a $3,000 purchase award, and two honorable mentions receive $500 each. The selected works will be acquired for the MoCP’s permanent collection. The competition supports diverse approaches within contemporary photography.
The competition is open to emerging photographers worldwide who are in their final year of a graduate program in photography or a related field.
