The Radical Imagination Artist Grant, offered by NDN Collective, supports Indigenous artists, collectives, and small nonprofits in the United States and its territories. The grant aims to empower creatives who are deeply engaged with their communities to develop alternative visions that inspire movements toward a just world for all people and Mother Earth. It emphasizes efforts that defend Indigenous rights, develop community-based solutions, and decolonize systems of oppression.
Eight selected grantees will each receive $50,000 to support their work over a one-year period. Funds can be used for living stipends, supplies, equipment, and other project-related expenses, with 12% allocated for the artist's self-care and well-being. Grantees are required to attend three convenings and submit mid-year and final reports.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, Indigenous, and reside within the post-colonial borders of the United States, Canada, Mexico, or the related Island Nations of Hawai’i, Borikén/Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The grant is open to individual artists, artist collectives, and small nonprofits working in any artistic discipline.
