Overview
The Pierre & Alexandra Boulat Award is presented annually to a professional photographer of any age, sex, or nationality who wishes to cover a social, economic, political, or cultural issue in a journalistic manner. The award aims to allow the winner to produce a story that has never been told but that the photographer cannot find support for within the media.
Reward
The winner will receive €8,000, disbursed in two parts: the first during the Visa pour l’Image festival in September 2025, and the second upon completion of the work by April 15, 2026. The completed project will be considered for exhibition or presentation during the 38th International Festival of Photojournalism "Visa pour l’Image - Perpignan" in September 2026. The award is intended to support the production of a photo-reportage that has not been previously funded or published.
Eligibility
Applicants must be professional photojournalists who have completed at least three photo-reportage projects (published or unpublished). They must be able to write and speak in French or English. The award is open to individuals of any age, sex, or nationality.
Application Requirements
Signed application form. Copy of the applicant’s identity card or passport. Affidavit stating professional photojournalist status. Curriculum vitae. Letter in support of the application, including a description of the photo-reportage project. Projected budget for the photo-reportage project. Selection of photographs from at least three different photo-reportage projects.
