OpenWalls Spotlight is an international photography award established to elevate the careers of both emerging and established artists by providing them with the opportunity to exhibit their work in prestigious and historic venues worldwide. In its sixth edition, the 2026 award, themed "Homecoming," inviting photographers to explore what it means to return – to a place, a person, a memory, or a version of oneself.
The award offers two main categories: Single Image and Stories. Three single-image winners and one series winner will have their work exhibited at the 17th-century Galerie Huit Arles, coinciding with Les Rencontres d’Arles, a renowned annual photography festival in July 2026. The Stories Category winner will also receive travel and accommodation support up to £500 to attend the exhibition's private view. Additionally, winners' work will be shared with national and international press and featured on 1854.photography.
The competition is open to professional and non-professional photographers of all ages, both UK-based and international. Images can be captured using any camera model, including film, digital, or camera phones, and there is no restriction on when the images were taken.
