Nida Residency

Overview

The Lithuanian Photographers Association, in collaboration with VAA Nida Art Colony, invites lens-based artists and photographers to apply for a residency program in Nida, Lithuania. This residency is part of the international photography symposium "NIDA. Meeting Photography." The program aims to reflect on site-specific ecosystems and the evolving boundaries of photography, encouraging artists to explore photography as both a medium and a means of expression. It seeks participants with a critical mindset, interested in examining the cultural discourse of their practice and possessing a strong socio-political perspective

Reward

The selected artist will receive a one-month residency at Nida Art Colony in Lithuania from May 1 to May 31, 2026. They will be awarded a €600 grant, along with reimbursement of travel expenses up to €300 and technical expenses up to €300. Additionally, the resident will be featured in the "NIDA. Meeting Photography" symposium and included in a printed publication, while 20 shortlisted artists will have their work presented during the symposium’s projection night.

Eligibility

The residency is open to photographers and lens-based artists worldwide. There are no specific age or nationality restrictions mentioned. Applicants should have a critical approach to their practice and an interest in site-specific work.
