National Press Club Journalism Awards

Overview

The National Press Club Journalism Awards recognize and honor professional journalists who have produced outstanding work for the public, either independently or as employees of editorially independent news entities. Entries must have appeared between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The awards encompass 15 categories, including breaking news, political writing, and specialty writing in areas such as aging, culture, press coverage, and foreign policy. Winners will be honored at the 52nd Annual National Press Club Journalism Awards Dinner on August 27, 2025.

Reward

The National Press Club Journalism Awards offer cash prizes of up to $1,000 for winners in various categories. In addition, winners may receive a one-year complimentary membership to the National Press Club. The competition supports a wide range of journalistic work, including breaking news, political writing, and specialty writing in fields like aging, culture, and foreign policy.

Eligibility

The National Press Club Journalism Awards are open to professional journalists worldwide, regardless of nationality. There are no age restrictions, but applicants must have published work in eligible categories, including print, online, or broadcast media.
