Overview
The Liu Shiming Art Foundation supports emerging visual artists through its annual Artist Grants program. It focuses on creators within their first decade of professional practice, aiming to foster projects that bridge traditional cultural or historical influences with contemporary artistic expression. The foundation’s mission is to advance artistic innovation, amplify diverse creative voices, and uphold the legacy of Liu Shiming through sustained support of international art practitioners.
Reward
They will award up to five grants of $5,000 USD each to selected visual artists. The funds are intended to support the creation or completion of new art projects that blend cultural or historical themes with contemporary approaches. Grants are disbursed in two installments: an initial payment followed by a final payment upon project completion
Eligibility
The grants are open to early-career visual artists worldwide who have been practicing for at least two years but not more than ten. Applicants must hold a BFA/BA (2015–2023), an MFA (2015–2023), or have had a debut solo/group exhibition during that period. Submissions are accepted in English
