Lena Grant​

The Lena Grant is awarded to support the coverage of health care issues in the USA, honoring Lena Wallace, the great-grandmother of WPOW co-director Molly Roberts. Sponsored by Sony, the grant encourages reporting on a variety of health-related topics, such as physical, mental, and emotional health, addiction, reproductive care, and more. The grant provides both funding and equipment to support the production of photo, video, or multimedia work

The winner of the Lena Grant will receive a $3,000 award and a Sony Alpha A93 camera kit. This grant is open to WPOW members only and supports the production of new work. The funding can cover reporting expenses and creative fees but not equipment purchases or secondary materials like books or exhibitions. The winner will also be required to share their work in progress for promotion and present the completed project at a WPOW event. Copyright remains with the creator.
