Banff Centre Film Competition

Overview

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Competition is an annual event that celebrates storytelling focused on mountain culture, sports, and the environment. Now in its 50th year, the competition is part of the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival, which draws global attention to cinematic works highlighting adventure and exploration. Selected films from the competition are also considered for the Banff World Tour, reaching a wide international audience.

Reward

The Grand Prize winner will receive CAD 5,000. Winners in various categories including Adventure, Environment, Mountain Culture, and Climbing will each receive CAD 3,000. Finalist films may be included in the Banff World Tour, offering global screening opportunities.

Eligibility

The competition is open to filmmakers of all nationalities and professional statuses. Eligible films must be produced in 2023, 2024, or 2025. Non-English films must include English subtitles or dubbing.
